Lion’s Club International Peace Poster competition

This week at assembly Natalie received her prize (of a $50 gift card) from the Lion’s Club for her beautiful poster about Sharing Peace.
Lachie R was unable to attend but he was the runner up and received a gift card worth $30.
We will cross our fingers for Natalie as her art work goes onto the district level of the competition!

White room-dot room

The Art room was buzzing at the school fair. Many people visited to add some dots to the specially created art installation based on the Japanese artist Kusama’s Obliteration Room.
Thanks so much to Dee for her fabulous help and organising all the donations from Mitre 10 (paints and painting equipment and the fake walls!). Thanks to Elizabeth T’s mum for asking for donations from Parenthood (packets of larger decal dots) and a big thanks to the many families that made dots from contact or donated packets of sticker dots!
Thanks also to Tania, Helen and Alicia for their help in getting the room ready.
Thanks also to the many dedicated students that came to paint everything white in the weeks before. There was quite a frenzy of activity! (Sorry about the paint on the uniforms and apparently in the children’s hair!!)
The students have continued to pop in at recess and lunchtimes this week to add more sticker dots to the festive scene! It has been wonderful to see their faces and the delight in putting stickers on whatever they want to! It has been great to show the students that art can be more than a 2D experience.
