Grade 56 Japanese Term 4

This term Grade 56s will learn to describe cities, places and things by learning the Japanese vocabulary for adjectives and better understanding the construction of these sentences. Students will also use Hiragana Characters more by translating written words and phrases and creating their own sentences using suitable word order.

Hiragana Lines To Focus On

‘NA’ Line       な、に、ぬ、ね、の – na, ni, nu, ne, no

‘HA’ Line       は、ひ、ふ、へ、ほ – ha, hi, fu, he, ho

‘MA’ Line       ま、み、む、め、も – ma, mi, mu, me, mo

Adjectives

たのしい – tanoshi (fun)

やさい – yasai (easy/relaxed)

かわいい – kawaii (cute)

こわい – kowai (scary)

へん – hen (strange)

おおきい – ookii (big)

ちさい – chisai (small)

あつい – atsui (hot)

さむい – samui (cold)

 

Thing は adjective です。(Thing wa adjective desu.)

ねずみちさいです。Mice are small.

とうきょうおおきいです。Tokyo is big.

Grade 34 Japanese Term 4

This term Grade 34 students will be developing their understanding of the Hiragana writing script by learning the systematic order of lines a-ho and to read and write these characters neatly. Students will also become more familiar with Japanese technology by learning brands and showcasing their learning through projects and other presentations.

Grade 12 Japanese Term 4

This term the language focus for Grade 12s will be centered around months and zodiac signs. Students will learn to pronounce new terms and patterns whilst bettering their kanji writing for months. Hiragana Characters will also be taught with students learning to sound out, match and write the first four lines.

Foundation Japanese Term 4

For the final term of the year, Foundation students will learn the Japanese vocabulary for animals, pets and preferences. Students will also be introduced to the Japanese writing script called Hiragana where their sounds and characters will be explored. Culturally we will develop a better understanding of Japanese animals and their folk tales.

Animals & Pets

うさぎ – usagi (rabbit)

もるもと- morumotto (guinea pig)
